May the Dog Tag Be True
My younger daughter has a ministry where she sends birthday cards to soldiers who are serving overseas, especially in Iraq and Afghanistan. She does this through a Christian lady who heads up a group of people who have a heart for this. Since our pastor writes gospel tracts, we thought we would get him to do one for this purpose, so he's writing one that Neesie can include with her cards. Well, I've been helping him look for a graphic for this military tract and ran across several that I liked. This one was my favorite. Look at the dog tags. How does that one in particular make you feel? (click on the picture if it's hard for you to read what it says.) Wow. How seriously we need to be keeping before the Lord on this matter.
Anyway, this post is a reminder, though I know most of you have not forgotten our troops. Let's continue to pray for their safety and protection, of course, but also that the words on this one dog tag might someday be true again.

WOW! I love that photo. Is it under copyright as I'd love to post that on my blog too.
I am a strong supporter in prayer for our troops. I think what your daughter is doing is wonderful. It blessed my heart because so many times over the years I told my hubby that I'd love to send encouragement Christian cards to them but never knew where to begin so...
but I'm glad to know your daughter and so many others are doing that. I remain in prayer for our men and women who sacrifice, serve and sadly at times give their lives for ours!
One Nation Under GOD! Hallelujah!
Love ya.
I love the dog tag!!!
We do need to be reminded of praying for our troops. With everything going on in the US today, we forget we are still fighting wars somewhere else.
I pray as long as God's people are here in this land that it will always be declared by us as "One Nation Under God" not matter what anyone else may say.
Sandra
You are so right, Sandra. As long as God's people are here...
And they sure are still here and still praying.
Lisa, I think it's okay to use that photo. Far as I know, it's okay or I may be in trouble!!!:) I'll email you about that card ministry.
That is a neat photo.
Since we've moved to a military town, it's so much 'closer to home' for us. One of our neighbors just got back and another neighbor left in May for a year.
My daughter ran across a young girl with 2 younger sisters who are living with their grandparents because both mom and dad are serving overseas. My heart breaks.
Aww, now that makes me really sad too, Brenda.
Maxine, that is a great photo and would make a great cover for a tract. I know I never forget for a moment we have troops on foreign soil fighting not one war but two!
Blessings and God Bless our troops!
What a wonderful ministry.. We need to always remember those men and women in harms way and pray the blood of Christ over their lives.. I will pray over those simple little cards that will cross the miles and mean so very very much to a single soul in harms way.......
Blessings girl !
Debra, I am not sure yet which picture he will use. I found several nice ones.
Those prayers are sorely needed and appreciated, Denise.
Absolutely. I am praying but we do need to be reminded never to give up just because circumstances may not be all that we'd like in the moment. God is working all things to the good according to his purposes.
Kudos to Neesie on her ministry.
I love that tag, Maxine. That is a wonderful ministry for Neesie. God bless our troops, we do need to be praying for them.
