Faces of Haiti

Lest we forget. . .I thought I'd bring the people of Haiti to our attention once again. Did you know that tomorrow is the three month anniversary of the earthquake? Unbelievable. This morning in Sunday school we had an emotional presentation by a man who has gone down there to assist with some of the Christian efforts. Some of the photos we saw and his first hand account left many folks in tears. You may not hear much about Haiti in the news anymore, but there is much going on down there and so many precious Christian people are doing ministry in the name of Jesus. I hope we all remember to keep this needy country in our prayers.

Bless their sweet hearts. They do need our help and prayers. The man on my video today is a worship leader I believe.

I turned on the tv this afternoon just as Samaritan's Purse was having a clip on Haiti. It was neat for Grace to see this and realize that she had a part in investing in this ministry when she sent her Operation Christmas Child box this past Christmas. She was so touched by seeing the team minister to the Haitains and seeing them realize their need for Jesus.

Maxine,

Such beautiful smiling faces amist so much devastation and destruction, it just breaks my heart.

Given the opportunity, I would go in a heartbeat. I will join with you my friend in continuing to pray for these precious people.

Have a great Monday!

Wow! I can't believe it has been 3 months already. To them it probably feels like an eternity. We have a faithful God and He will draw those people in to Himself throughout all of this destruction. We need to pray for many to hear His voice and answer His calling.

Even with the pictures, we cannot imagine the devastation and grief compared to our own lifestyles, yet so many have come to the Lord and so many sing praises to Him. I am so humbled by them, Maxine. Thank you for sharing with us this reminder of the great need of the people of Haiti. I also pray for Poland's people as they deal with their great loss.
God is sovereign,
Laurie

Maxine, I still have dial-up internet because of living out in the country so it takes awhile for me to down-load a video. My first post was before watching. After watching I wondered if you noticed the refuge camp with the blankets on top. Those blankets with the stripes are symbols of the prayer shawl and represent God's covering over those people. I wonder if they know that?????

No, I didn't notice that, Sandra! I wonder if they do. That is so neat; thanks for sharing it with us!

that has always bothered me. tragic events that get so much coverage for whatever amount of time and then the media turns to the next tragedy. i'm not saying it's wrong because i can see why they need to cover whatever is happening, but i always think about those still suffering and wondering how the relief work is going. this was never more evident than when hurricane katrina hit. there are still people suffering from this tragedy.

thanks for your thoughts and prayers on my behalf. they are so appreciated.
