Thursday Already

Well, hi dear friends. I have been neglecting my poor little blog here, I know. Can you believe it's Thursday already? Where in the world has the time gone?

In this household, it's the usual. Poor Neesie is bogged down under with schoolwork, and me? For one thing, I have started the income taxes and wonder of wonders, have remained sane so far! But then, I've only gotten ten percent through it, so that's not saying much. Seriously, though, since we switched to the H & R Block online tax service, it has been far far better than the old days. So much of the info is saved from previous years, and they do help guide you through the process. For us, it is worth the $29.95, so this is a little plug for the H & R online. Also, my sanity has remained more intact since I start it a bit "earlier" (that is, late March instead of early April!), and only do a small segment at a time. Somehow, it's seems less painful that way. I guess you can tell, there is not a lot of love for the IRS around here, and we don't even usually have to pay them anything! Unfortunately, it must be an area of besetting sin which should be given over to the Lord. That's not a joke.

Also, we're in the middle of developing new products at Speakable Gifts, some which are wedding related, so please pray for my daughter Bev and me as we seek God's help and direction in this. I'll let you know when we have it pretty much all together.

But we're still looking to Jesus in our little corner of the world. I know many of you are too. I'm going to try to "steal" some moments here and there through the course of the day to check on some of you to see what you're up to!

Oh, that is a very reasonable price from H&R Block.

Glad the stress of the taxes is a little less this year for you Maxine. I remember reading about this on your blog last tax season. Yes, the seasons come and go far to quickly don't they. Our life seems to have been in a tail spin lately. We just finished reading Ecclesiastes this morning so "seasons" is very much on my mind :o)

Maxine, I cannot picture you slugging away on taxes as that picture shows, but I do understand the "crunch time", although I do not do ours, my husband does, and he lets it go way into April and usually is driving to the post office last minute. He did do them online once and I think he might again this year - progress!

Your new products sound like such a good idea, and I know the Holy Spirit is your guide in this process, so it will be a wonderful blessing for brides and their loved ones. I will pray for you and your daughter as you work on this together, that He will guide every step so that He is glorified.

It is always nice to visit your blog, Maxine, snd to see what is happening in your world. We all have other things to tend to, though, and find it a blessing whenever we get a chance to meet with our blog friends!
Blessings to you, friend!
Laurie

Just did my taxes last night. I tend to put things off sometimes and taxes is surely one of those things.

I can't believe it's almost the end of March and it's still cold here down south. But our days are starting to warm up some, so I'll not complain.

Hi Maxine, That sounds like a wonderful idea for taxes. I'll have to let my older dds know about that. Thanks so much for sharing!

You sound like a busy-bee! : )

I know how it is, I've been a busy-bee too. ; )

I didn't know you had a gift store, my goodness. Oh I can so relate, my dd24 & 20 have an online modesty boutique. (Bellissima Modesty Boutique) It can be so trying. Oh how I understand. I'll pray that you would have wisdom and we always covet prayers as well.

Please feel free to use that quote you asked about, I also responded to you on my site. : )

Be blessed and have a Jesus filled day! I pray the Lord send you encouragement as you are so faithful to encourage others. ~Amelia

Hi Maxine! I was just trying to figure out my daughter's income tax this morning - ugh! She has lived and worked in Guatemala for the past year so I'm not sure how to file her taxes. I am glad that yours are a little less stressful this year.
I am struggling a bit this year with feeling bogged down or caught in a rut- asking God "what's next? What is your will for me life now?" I keep on, waiting for His leading but not ffeling much purpose in life right now. Maybe I just need spring to come too :) Have a great day, Maxine - and good luck with the taxes!!

Wow those wedding products have peaked my interest! I hear you about those taxes, got ours done early, what a project, but we have our oldest going to college next year so there are those FAFSA's to fill out!

P.S. I'm having a book review and contest. Please stop on by!

I just saw your family's gift site, so far I've enjoyed seeing the book sets, oh I just love "Beautiful Girlhood", my dds have read "Stepping Heavenward". Beautiful sets!

Did you write the book on character? That is wonderful! I have bookmarked the site and intend on diligently passing it on to others who will glean from it! : ) The one book by the author of "Heavenward" looks interesting. I had never heard of that one. And what a wonderful idea to include journals too.

My girls are going to love the gift books sets when I show them, I'm not through gleaning yet but just wanted to stop by and tell you how I've enjoyed the site so far. : ) I was wondering if when you clicked on my profile follower pic if it shows a "message" part? I took it off of the profile since it seemed to be showing on my pic. Please feel free to let me know if it isn't working on my pic. : )

Blessings to you Maxine! ~Amelia
