Epitaph

An epitaph written in a cemetery in England:

Remember man, as you walk by,
As you are now, so once was I,
As I am now, so shall you be,
Remember this and follow me.

To which someone replied by writing on the tombstone:

To follow you I'll not consent,
Until I know which way you went.

Wow. I found this in humorous stories at GatewayToJesus.com, but I hope it makes you think. Do you know where you will be when you leave this world? Do you know the one way to God? Do you know what is awaiting if you go the other way? In the Bible you'll see that the only way to spend an eternity with God is by repenting of your sins and turning to Jesus, the only Savior. And if you die without Him, it will be to a Christless eternity in a horrible place called hell.

Which way will you be going? Actually, this is not a laughing matter.

Excellent Maxine. You are right, it is no laughing matter and Eternity is a long, long time.

Bless you dear friend, how I appreciate you.

This has special meaning to our family, we lost my father in law this past Monday. This is a difficult week for our family, but we have the consolation of knowing my father in law sees Jesus face to face.

That passer-by was a wise man indeed. Even the Bible states "If the blind lead the blind they both fall in the ditch." We must keep our eyes only upon our Savior and Lord, Jesus the Christ. Thanks for sharing.

Oh, so true, Maxine, and I have many relatives and friends I pray for, hoping in the Lord that they will make a committment to Him. There really isn't any decision as important as this one.

Dear Maxine, I surely did not find this funny but life warning. I am so glad and thankful that I know the Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. I do pray that all come to this knowledge before leaving this world for after that it is too late.

Please pray for family of mine that are in spiritual need. Thank you.

Dear Amelia, I am so sorry for your loss and I am so thankful that you have the consolation that you will see your Father in law again, one day. May God bless you as He comforts your hearts. connie

Wonderful post Maxine. Thank you for sharing. There are many "well meaning" people in the world, but without trusting in Christ alone for salvation, they are eternally lost. And Hell is a literal lake of fire. Praise God He sent Jesus to save us - He doesn't want any to perish! That's God's love.

P.S. When you get a chance, please email me at susanskitt@verizon.net - I have a prayer request. Thanks sis!
