Such a Tragedy

He was always such a favorite around our house. Most of you know about the scandal/tragedy and today Tiger Woods issued a statement to his family and friends, and to the world, actually. Of all his expressions of sorrow for what he's done, there was one particular aspect of his statement that made me particularly grieved. He talked about his need to return to his faith of Buddhism. Poor thing. What he needs most is Christ. I'll be sure to pray for him about that more than anything else. Hope you will too.

May the Lord have mercy on this family. Another proof of the futility of riches.

Better is a little with righteousness than great revenues without right. Proverbs 16:8

I had the same feeling watching him today Maxine. I'm praying the Lord will send someone to him who will point him to Jesus.

I saw that too, Maxine. And I think he needs to pay attention to what Brit Hume suggested, becoming a Christian. Then he would overcome and be victorious.

That is so true. I just wanted to stop over and say hello. I am so excited that you left a comment over on my blog. I worked really hard on that piece and my mother-in-law, who is absolutely awesome, loved it. I am a follower of your blog so I hope to see you on my blog. Thanks!

Maxine, I watched his speech. The same thing hit me about Buddhism. He doesn't want to be reminded that only through GOD will he find true peace. He spoke about what he was taught through his religion. If it is so good, why isn't he practicing what he learned? Only God can keep him free from his sexual sins! He needs lots of prayer that he will some day come to embrace the forgiveness only God can give and the peace that will come with that forgiveness.

I cannot add to what has already been said about Tiger Woods, and my heart just breaks for his wife and children. Satan's lies always seem good, when in fact they only bring destruction, and 1 of his biggest lies is that all religions lead to God.

Thank you, Maxine, for your faithfulness in pointing to Jesus in your posts. Your love for Him brings Him glory.
Blessings to you, friend,
Laurie
