Tebow Ad Controversy

Have you heard about this? I just found out about this controversy this morning. Some of you who are not sports fans may not know who Tim Tebow is, but he's a talented and well known young college football player who has tried to be a testimony for the Lord. Apparently he and his mother are to appear in a Focus on the Family ad which is to be aired during the Super Bowl. The controversy is that this ad will tell how Tebow's mother was advised to have an abortion while she was pregnant with him and she chose not to. Sooo, women's groups are coming out full force against this ad. That fact doesn't surprise me, but I was looking up information about it on a search, and sure enough, ran into some ugly stuff against Tebow from the ever vigilant left. Do you notice how anyone who makes a stand for biblical principles, especially if they are against abortion and gay marriage, that there are many in this country who want their head? Years ago, when I was a young woman, I never thought I would see such a day as this.

"Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness, that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! "Isaiah 5:20

I just read about this in our paper this morning, Maxine. With all of the trash that is on tv these days, it is absurb when groups complain about something like this. I think it will be an ad America needs, and more of them. It indeed saddens me how upside down America (the world, actually) has become. The verse in Isaiah describes how things are, and I pray the Lord returns soon. If He should tarry, I know I must pray for those who oppose Him and His teachings.

I saw this story on the World News last night. His mother and father refused to listen to the world experts(Dr's) and they believed what God promised them and stood on His Word and proclaimed it.

The attack is against their faith because they chose to believe God and the 'world' doesn't like that.

And yet no one seems to mind when there are Beer commercials (for which I cannot stand)

I had not heard about this, but it does not surprise me in the least.

It is a sign of the times we live in. There will always be those that object to that which is truth.

Even so come Lord Jesus!

We are not big sports fans and were not aware of this but I'm not surprised.

"They" even attacked our Savior when He walked here on earth but I agree it is getting worse and worse.

Thank God for those who will stand and boldly proclaim for God's way.

It is pretty bad. We all have to stand behind him and the pro-life movement!

Heard about it yesterday! Kudos to him! We have to fight for our free speech! They are coming out of the walls to stop this. People do not want to hear us speak of a loving God.. Thus we need to speak louder...!

I had heard about this recently but didn't know details. Wow - Time Tebow and Focus on the Family! Praise God for His people who are willing to speak up for the truth in love. I pray it will be aired and many lives changed as a result.

And I don't even have to say anything about all the vulgar ads that are out there... at least not here, I know you would agree.

I like the verse you ended with - woe to them that call evil good and good evil.

Thanks for bringing attention to this so others can be praying.

That is just terrible, Maxine. I think they also want to run some controversial ad now, forgot what about. It is disgusting how they attack others. What a world we live in.

Tim Tebow and his parents are people of great faith and integrity. You would think society would be excited about people like them instead of wanting to just shut them up.

Actually, I would guess that the vast majority of Americans support him and his message; however, the powers that be (that scream the loudest) hate his God-honoring message. It's probably only a small majority that are in opposition to the ad; however, that small majority has much power and much money on their side.

Love,
Patti
