Olympic Skating Drama

Well, it's going to be bedtime soon, but I'm sitting here on the couch with my laptop, getting in some blogging and watching the Olympics. Waiting for the drama! Tonight is the men's figure skating finals and the three men you see here are in one-two-three position in order from left to right. But they are so close in points that it's almost a tie! They are from Russia, the U.S., and Japan respectively. My younger daughter is a huge fan of figure skating and she's quite excited about what's happening tonight--rooting, of course, quite intensely for the American, Evan Lysacek. They'll be skating soon! Going for the gold! Guess I'll be up late!

And I wanted to say a thank you for my new blog friend, Laurie (of Nana's House), for a sweet Sunshine Award today. Laurie blessed me in some other ways too today and I want to thank her for that also!

Awwww, just when I was about ready to go to bed, the men's figure skating is on! And it is much later where you live, Maxine! I'll give it a few more minutes and then I am off to dreamland...my sweet granddaughter Maya is coming tomorrow and I want to have plenty of energy to keep up with her!

I was up late watching, too. Mickey, bless his heart, stayed up with me :o)

Yes, the American won and the joy and surprise of Evan, his coach & the choreographer was so real and so pure it blessed me.

You would certainly deserve the Sunshine Award, Maxine!!!

Yes!!!!!Evan did win the gold! I agree, Susan--we liked the way he and the others responded. And his mom...what can we say? It was exciting!

It's times like these I wish I COULD watch t.v. We live out in the country & don't have cable....which we don't really even miss (except for Home & Garden and some sports events like the Olympics). Ironically, I was a competative roller skater....which is exactly the same as an ice figure skater. I LOVE to watch the figure skaters. How wonderful, I see that Evan won. Loved this entry, Maxine! I hope you got some rest.:) (((Hugs))))

You and I were doing exactly the same thing last night. I just love watching the different events - especially the figure skating. And it's a great time to catch up on blogs too!

Wow, that's neat, Nama! I don't think I've heard about competitive roller skating. I'll keep an eye out for it--I think it would be fun to watch.
Hey, Linda, that's one of the ways I deal with that blogging time thing we've been talking about. Sit with my family watching a good old movie or sports event, and blog at the same time.

My younger sister used to skate. She was really good but started high school and decided it was too demanding.

so glad Evan won the gold!!! I wasn't so crazy about the Russian's attitude toward Evan when he won--very arrogant! I was so glad to see someone who is humble win. =)
