My Duty

For more Word-Filled Wednesday posts, visit Lori at All You Have to Give.

Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour. Romans 13:7

Well, I finished them today. Finally. As I have said before, I usually have very bad attitude about doing them, and it never fails that there is some sort of "hitch" that comes up as I work on them. This time was no exception, but the problem had to do with the H & R Block program as there was something I didn't understand. Well, a phone call to a customer service rep made it all okay and now it's done. I posted this verse for Word filled Wednesday to remind myself (and perhaps others) that this is part of my duty as a citizen of our country and I should not be sour about fulfilling that duty. But I am also reminding myself that I am obeying God in the meantime and certainly that makes it feel better. Do you agree?

I totally agree! :) And once again, you and I have "great minds" as I was thinking of our taxes LAST week with Prayer Activities for Grandparents and Their Grandchildren at Tax Time. :) :) :) How fun! And such a great reminder for all of us that tomorrow is April 15. I'm off to tweet this for just that reason. Have a blessed Word-Filled Wednesday :)

Amen, you are so right Maxine.

So many things we must do and do it "as unto the Lord".

Although I'm not happy with things in our country I still pray for our President, leaders, families, etc.

This is our duty and we should do it with "JOY".

Blessings to you my sweet friend♥

Yes, I agree. Render unto Ceasar that which is Ceasar's and unto God that which is Gods. I much prefer putting in my tithes and offerings each week though :o) !!!! Because that's where my heart is.

I agree. We need to pay what we owe. We still live in the greatest nation on earth.

My husband takes care of the tax stuff and always sends in early. To trust and obey...that's the only way! It's all the Lord's money, anyway :).

Thanks for visiting my blog today.

Good for you! And yes, although I often grumble to see the difference between the gross income and net income, that verse is a good reminder.

OH DEAR!
Another little prompt to get on with entering the statements my left elbow is resting on ...into my accounting system....and off to the tax agent.
Thank you.......I think.....lol.
Having been almost a sleepy beauty (for want of a better word) for the last 5 years this has been a constant struggle and guilt trip..especially
when my accountant said do not stress......Not a good thing to say to a natural procrastinator.

Paying taxes is part of the privilege of living in this wonderful country. Yes, there are a myriad of problems with our country, but, I'd rather live here than any other country in the world.

However, I don't think there is anything wrong with working in a peaceful and God-honoring way to try to change things, so that the average American isn't working half the year just for taxes.

By the way, after a long hiatus from blogging, I have decided to give it another try. After all these months of focusing on an adoption, I have determined that I need a change of pace. So, I'm back to the blogging world again...just hope it won't consume me as it has done in the past.

Love,
Patti

Oh my, I walked into the living room last week and would see Marianna sitting on the floor doing her taxes... Oh her poor countenance... But all was well when she was finished and had the heart joy of knowing she had accomplished this great feat for herself! : ) She was very satisfied with the H & R program too, thanks you so much Maxine for sharing here, I was able to pass the info to Marianna and it turned out to be a blessing for her. : ) I think next year will be much easier for her.

Bless you Maxine! ~Amelia

Hi Maxine, I had messaged you and am not sure if it went through. I 'test' messaged my daughter from her blog, and it never went through. I think I'm missing something. : P I've reposted my email on profile since the regular messaging doesn't seem to be going through for some reason. Just wanted to let you know. I've also had a couple of people tell me they couldn't comment on my blog...I'm bewildered! : ) Oh the marvels of modern technology right? LOL

Bless you Maxine, no rush, just curious as to what I may be doing wrong... : )
