Sunday School Lessons

Speaking of Sunday school classes, yesterday’s lesson on sharing went somewhat unheeded by the darlings of our church. This picture is one of the better moments of the day for these two students. Their teacher for this month is Beka, one of my former students, who was kind enough to encourage me on my last post. Now she’s got her hands full with these two almost-toddlers. (Remember them from prior posts?) I think she’s having fun, though, and for anyone who thinks this age is just for babysitting duty, just ask Beka. They are learning!

In case any of you don’t know, the one on the left is my granddaughter. But both of these little princesses are special to the whole church body.

look at those sweet hearts! They are precious!! You are right!! I taught two year old toddlers in Dallas, TX at Christ for the Nations many moons ago!! They do learn!

Ah yes, these little darlings have a lot to learn! It is a joy to be able to help in some small way as they learn important lessons, such as sharing! It's so much fun to watch their emerging personalities.
I'll miss having Lena in my "class" next week!

Awwww ... so sweet. They are going to be so close. I've been laughing at their antics ever since Sunday. When, oh when, will Lena realize that Auntie Beka has a direct line to Mommy's ear?

Oh, the cutest! I love the little head scarf - head coverings for babies?
Lena looks like she's a little pickpocket! :)

Oh no, Elise! We can't have that! One thing to work on at a time! Let's hope their poor teacher only has to focus on sharing for a while!

Oh what darlings Maxine!
I have no children of my own but my heart was always with the Sunday School kids.
I used to have a class of three to five years old and it was so amazing what these little ones could take in.
One little girl who was only three years old was pulling wash cloths out of her mommy's dresser drawers, one day and rubbing them on her chest.
When Carol asked her, "Valarie, what are you doing?"
"I am washing the sin from my heart!"
Just imagine three years old Maxine and she already knew that she was a sinner and that sin is not allowed in heaven..

It bothered me to no end one time when one well meaning Christian sister told me that
"Sunday School for such young children was nothing but glorified babysitting!" Grrr...

Just tell me this Nanna Maxine ..What adult ever saw this so simply?;
I was telling the children that when Jesus was going to be born that His name would be Emmanuel and His name means "God with us"
Little four year old Maryanne got all excited and she shouted.."Terry that means that Jesus is God and God is Jesus!"
Out of the mouths of babes...this little girl had already discoverd the Trinity!!

Have a good weekend my friend...Love Terry
